Copyright Policy

Employee Relations Law Journal (Empl. Relat. Law J.) is committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of authors while promoting the broad and responsible dissemination of scholarly knowledge. This Copyright Policy applies to all manuscripts and scholarly content submitted to or published by the journal.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright in their original work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Publication in the journal does not, by itself, transfer copyright ownership from the author to the journal.

By submitting a manuscript, authors grant the Employee Relations Law Journal the necessary non-exclusive rights to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, archive, and make the work publicly accessible as part of the journal's publishing and scholarly communication activities.

Open Access and Licensing

The Employee Relations Law Journal is an open-access journal. Published articles are made freely available to readers and are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, unless otherwise stated for a particular work.

Under the CC BY 4.0 License, users may share, copy, redistribute, and adapt the published material for any purpose, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), the source is properly acknowledged, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the original work are indicated.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • The submitted manuscript is their original work or that they have obtained the necessary rights and permissions to use third-party material.
  • All sources, quotations, figures, tables, images, and other copyrighted materials are appropriately acknowledged.
  • Any required permission for copyrighted material has been obtained before publication.
  • The manuscript does not infringe the copyright, intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
  • The information provided concerning authorship and ownership rights is accurate.

Third-Party Material

Authors must clearly identify and properly acknowledge any material that is not their original work. Where third-party content is not covered by the article's Creative Commons license, the relevant copyright holder's permission may be required.

The journal may request evidence of permission for the reproduction of copyrighted material before proceeding with publication.

Author Rights

Authors may use, share, and disseminate their published work in accordance with the applicable CC BY 4.0 license and any applicable journal policies. Authors may also use their work for academic, educational, and professional purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is maintained.

Copyright Infringement

The journal takes allegations of copyright infringement seriously. Any individual who believes that material published on the journal's website infringes their copyright may contact the Editorial Office with sufficient information to identify the material and explain the nature of the alleged infringement.

The journal will review credible copyright concerns and may take appropriate action, which may include correction, removal, or other measures where warranted.

Corrections and Retractions

Where a published article is found to contain significant copyright-related issues, the journal may issue a correction, clarification, or retraction in accordance with its editorial and publication ethics policies.
