Rapid transformations in accounting—driven by automation, analytics, regulatory change, and globalization—have increased the demand for graduates who possess not only technical accounting skills but also consulting competencies, including problem-solving, communication, client management, and strategic analysis. Consulting-based accounting education integrates experiential learning, project-based assessments, industry engagement, and advisory simulations to prepare graduates for advisory and consulting roles. This paper analyzes pedagogical approaches, competency frameworks, curriculum models, and collaboration strategies that enable consulting-based accounting education. A multi-stage model is proposed for designing consulting-focused academic programs, along with best-practice guidelines that integrate theory with real-world business challenges.
