Guide for Authors

The Employee Relations Law Journal (ERLJ) welcomes high-quality, original manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of employment law, labor law, industrial relations, and related disciplines. Authors are encouraged to carefully read and follow the guidelines below before submitting their manuscripts.

Manuscript Types

The journal accepts the following categories of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Case Studies

  • Legal Commentaries

  • Policy Analyses

  • Comparative Legal Studies

  • Short Communications

  • Letters to the Editor

Originality

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is strictly prohibited.

Language

All manuscripts must be written in clear and professional English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare manuscripts using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

The manuscript should generally include the following sections:

  • Title Page

  • Abstract (150–250 words)

  • Keywords (3–6 keywords)

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (where applicable)

  • Materials and Methods / Methodology

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  • Funding Statement

  • Conflict of Interest Statement

  • Ethical Approval Statement (where applicable)

  • References

Title Page

The title page should contain:

  • Full manuscript title

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • ORCID IDs (if available)

  • Corresponding author's name

  • Email address

  • Complete institutional address

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should briefly describe the background, objectives, methodology, major findings, and conclusions of the study. Authors should provide 3–6 keywords that accurately describe the manuscript.

References

Authors should ensure that all references are accurate, complete, and consistently formatted according to the journal's required citation style. Every reference cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and cited in the text. Each table and figure must include an appropriate title or caption. Images should be of high quality and suitable for publication.

Ethical Requirements

Authors must adhere to the highest standards of publication ethics. Where applicable, manuscripts involving human participants or animals must include approval from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board.

Authors must also disclose:

  • Funding sources

  • Conflicts of interest

  • Author contributions (if requested)

  • Data availability (where applicable)

Plagiarism

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected immediately.

Peer Review

ERLJ follows a Single-Blind Peer Review process. The identities of reviewers remain confidential, while reviewers are aware of the authors' identities. Editorial decisions are based on reviewers' recommendations and the scientific quality of the manuscript.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal a license to publish and archive the accepted article.

Submission

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's official online submission system or by email, as instructed on the journal website. Authors should ensure that all required files and declarations are included at the time of submission.

Editorial Decision

After peer review, manuscripts may be:

  • Accepted

  • Accepted with Minor Revisions

  • Accepted with Major Revisions

  • Rejected

The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final decision regarding publication based on reviewers' comments, editorial evaluation, and the journal's publication standards.
